The MYRCA book winner is… OCDaniel by Wesley King ! Shooter by Caroline Pignat and The
Nameless City by Faith Erin Hicks were picked as the Honour Books. There will be a special
award ceremony next fall in which Wesley King will receive an award and speak to the students
about the writing process and answer questions from the audience. Students will have the
opportunity to get an author’s autograph while enjoying the ceremony.
Rick Riordan fans, “The Trials of Apollo”, will be hitting shelves soon. Along with a special
edition of “Whatever After – Abby in Wonderland” by Sarah Mlynowski, John Grisham’s
“Theodore Boone: The Activist” and “Pugs and Kisses” by J.J. Howard. Book two in the series of
“Chloe by Design “Balancing Act”, “Horizon 2 – Deadzone” and “Wandmaker’s Apprentice” will
be sure to keep our chick lit, fantasy and adventure/survival fans happy. If realistic fiction is
more your thing, come check out “Unschooled” by Allan Woodrow and “From You to Me” by
K.A. Holt. Solve a mystery with “Jack and the Geniuses” by Bill Nye the Science Guy or laugh
along with “Tom Gates Dog Zombies Rule” by Liz Pichon. Non-fiction readers will enjoy Vince
Cross’ “Hero at Dunkirk” and “Hidden Figures” by Margot Lee Shetterly. Enjoy the 3 poems
written by “Poppa Mac” Mackay with last years 4TK class, found in “Cap Guns & Stick Ponies.”
Inventory time in the library is coming up quickly. All student books will be due back on
Tuesday, June 12, as inventory will be starting the next day. Please check your locker,
classrooms and shelves at home for lost or forgotten books.
